Africa Day 2017: Thursday 25th May

Posted on May 19, 2017 by Chartfield School in Special Announcements

We will be celebrating this beautiful continent throughout next week.

The children will have the opportunity to make masks, rx participate in Jungle Yoga, abortion try a taste of Africa at our African-themed tuck shop, play an active role in an African Drumming Workshop and more!

On Wednesday, all children will have the opportunity to take part in a drumming workshop and we would like to invite you all to come and watch. Some of the children will be giving a special performance at the end of the day to show you exactly what they’ve learnt. The performance will start at 3pm and we hope lots of you will be able to join us.

Thursday will be a non-uniform day and we ask that each child pays £2 to participate. Every penny we raise will be donated to Harry Milham in his fundraising efforts for Childreach International. Africa is a continent of colour and beauty and we ask the children to come either dressed in bright colours, African costume or as an African animal. Mrs Nyaligwa is kindly making some snacks for the children to try and we will be selling exotic fruit pots. If your child would like a fruit pot, please complete the slip on this physical copy of this letter and return it to school with £1 by Wednesday 24th May.

We hope the children will have an enjoyable and educational week.

Thank you,
Miss Shipley
