Dates for the diary
Friday 22nd September is Jeans for Genes Day. A non-uniform day where we ask all children to pay £2 and come to school wearing jeans, if not jeans, then something blue please. Please return your Smarties tubes as soon as they are filled, I have plenty more if you would like an additional one.
A trip to the Marlowe Theatre has been arranged for Monday 25th September for all children from Years 3-6 to watch War Horse. We will have some extra tickets available for parents that would like to join us.
On Friday 29th September, we will be taking part in Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ and all are welcome.
A meeting will be held at school on Thursday 5th October at 7pm for all parents who have a child in Year 5. This meeting will be to discuss the Kent Test.
Harvest Festival will take place on Friday 6th October and will be held at Christ Church in Westgate. We have a traditional Harvest Festival every year and further information will be sent out nearer the time.
The ‘School Sleepover‘ will be on Friday 13th October; sorry, no adults allowed!
2 week half-term – Friday 13th October – break up at 3.30 pm and return to school on Monday 30th October.
On Tuesday 31st October, the PTFA will be organising a Halloween fancy dress disco for all children at The Studio, Thanet Indoor Bowls Centre, Cliftonville.
Parliament week starts on Monday 13th November and Chartfield will have its very own General Election. Our four Year 6 pupils will impress us all with their manifestos. All children will have a chance to cast their vote in the ballot box on Friday 17th November.
All children from Reception to Year 4 will be offered the annual nasal flu vaccination on Tuesday 21st November. Further information will either be sent to you directly from the NHS or from school depending on the age of your child.
The PTFA Christmas Fair will be held at school on Saturday 25th November at school, all are welcome. More details to follow.
Calling all adults! You are invited to join us for a Chartfield Christmas celebration at The Captain Digby on Friday 1st December at 7.30pm. All are welcome. The cost of the three course meal will be £21 per person. Further details will be sent out nearer the time.
Tuesday 4th December – dress rehearsal in the afternoon at Birchington Village Centre. (Dress rehearsal note to follow)
Wednesday 5th December – Christmas Play, 2pm at Birchington Village Centre.
Thursday 6th December – Christmas Lunch at school, note to follow.
Friday 7th December – Last day of term. Christmas Party in the afternoon at Manston Village Hall.
Saturday 9th December will be the Christmas Play, part 2! Every year we are asked to perform the play for a second time at Christ Church Hall in Westgate. If you are unable to watch the performance on Wednesday 6th December you will get another opportunity to see our children in action. I understand a Saturday is not actually a school day but as always your support would be appreciated.
Holiday Club will run from Monday 11th – Friday 15th December. Further information will be sent out nearer the time.
Tickets are available from school for Peter Pan at the Marlowe theatre for the 7pm performance on Tuesday 19th December. Tickets are at the reduced rate of £27.17. We only have 50 tickets and I predict these will sell out quickly so if you are interested please let me know as soon as possible, all tickets must be paid for by Friday 22nd September.
