Autumn Term 2018 Newsletter

Welcome back to the Autumn Term at Chartfield. We hope you’ve all had a restful break and that the children and ready for the new term. This newsletter covers staffing changes, reminders and dates for your diary for upcoming events, including Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which we’ll be hosting on Friday 28th September.

Harvest Festival 2018

As lots of you are aware, every year we hold a special Harvest Festival Assembly for the children. This year we will celebrate Harvest on Friday 5th October and our service will be held at Christ Church in Westgate, and everyone will be welcome. We also ask each child to bring in a basket or box of food to be presented to old friends of Chartfield and the elderly in the local community.

Jeans for Genes Day 2018

Astonishingly, it is estimated that 1 in 25 children is born with a genetic disorder. Therefore, 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year. Did you know there are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders? We each have 25,000 genes. Just one fault on one gene can cause a genetic disorder. Some genetic disorders are apparent at birth while others are diagnosed at different stages throughout childhood, and sometimes into adulthood.
