Kingswood 2019

Posted on September 12, 2018 by Chartfield School in Extra-curricular events

We are delighted to inform you that after the success of our trip to Kingswood we are organising our next residential educational adventure activity course. This time to the Kingswood Centre in South Yorkshire, Dearne Valley, in May 2019.

Kingswood is the leading residential activity centre provider, welcoming over 130,000 children each year. Dearne Valley offers a unique blend of nature, adventurous activities, and contemporary purpose built accommodation and high quality learning facilities. Formerly the Earth Centre, one of the millennium commission projects, Dearne Valley was transformed into a state-of-the-art activity centre in 2012. With fantastic indoor and outdoor activity facilities surrounded by the beautiful countryside of South Yorkshire, Dearne Valley offers something for everyone.

Residential courses organised by the school are an optional, but invaluable, part of the National Curriculum. Pupils benefit hugely from the experience, both educationally and socially and I feel certain that the programme which we have chosen will, as always, prove to be both enjoyable and very worthwhile.

We would like to offer this opportunity to all children from Year 3 to Year 6. The trip will take place from Friday 17th May – Monday 20th May. The cost of the visit will be £170 and includes full board, accommodation and a full programme of activities but not travel.

The trip can be paid in a variety of ways this year:

  • Nine instalments: eight instalments of £18.50 starting in September, ending with the ninth instalment of £22 in May next year. A payment card will be issued.
  • Three instalments, the first instalment will be £70; the following two will be £50.
  • Pay the whole amount in full.
